Service Award for NAUI leadership development in Asia
2002: NAUI Worldwide Outstanding Service Award winner, the
scuba diving industry "Oscar". Co-founder of the
European Diving
Career Institute in Varna, Bulgaria, NAUI Pacific Rim Course Director
for international Instructor Training Courses
2002: Relocated to Kumamoto,
Kyushu, Japan. Developed NAUI training programs in cooperation with a well
known local NAUI centre.
Consult Dive International partnered with a NAUI facility in the
Caribbean to run the first ever NAUI ITC in this part of the world in
August. NAUI Instructor Development will continue at the
European Diving
Career Institute in Varna, and in Japan
2003: Developing NAUI instructor training and continuing education

Freddy also is a regular
contributor to the "Sources" and "ReSources" magazines, where
his articles
have been published in numerous occasions. Other articles have been
published in "Dive Log Asia" a now defunct side magazine of
Asian Diver, which was addressing to the professional diving
community in Asia.
He has been coordinating field research for biological and environmental
studies in the Red Sea and in Thailand, participated in a Thai governmental
project under the auspices of the European Union, where local
Thai Sea Gypsies were trained as NAUI Divemasters and a dive centre was
opened for them in deep southern Thailand, in a relocation and reorientation
project of local nationals involved with fishing in National Marine
Parks.
Freddy also helped in the training of numerous Thai nationals up to NAUI
Instructor level, who are now active in numerous dive centers locally.
Assisted in the training of key staff of the
Phuket's Marine Biology Centre in 2001,which is a NAUI facility now and
offers NAUI certifications to its graduates.
Freddy is training at the EDCI in Varna, Bulgaria, most
NAUI Instructors for the Bulgarian Navy, and key staff for the "Varna
Underwater Archeological Society" where intensive underwater archeology
courses are offered with NAUI credentials |
